Henderson, NV: Lots of Diversity

Henderson, Nevada, is the second most populous city in Nevada. This city that lies at the southern end of the valley that also contains Las Vegas has approximately 308,000 people. It is one of the safest cities in America and it has also been named one of the best cities in America to live. This city got its start as a magnesium producer during World War II, but today residents enjoy a very diverse economy with many logistics company because of the three major roads running through the city.

While the summers can get quite warm, many people are surprised to find that the daily average highs in the winter are over 50 degrees. There are many outstanding things to do in Henderson including learning more about the history of the area at the Clarke County Historical Museum, tasting whiskey at the local distillery, hearing the lions roar at the Lions Heritage Ranch and hiking in the Sloan Canyon National Conservation Area. While Las Vegas at the other end of the valley has more location, you will find plenty of places to test Lady Luck in Henderson. Higher incomes allow people to pay a little more than the national average for things in Henderson, and that is particularly true of the cost of housing.Many students do exceedingly well in school with many going on to higher education at top colleges in the area.

While some say it could be better, over 50 buses operate throughout the valley making it easy to get around Henderson and points beyond.
