I have lived here for 2 years and am outside all the time day and night. My neighborhood is wonderful with great neighbors that watch out for each other. So glad I chose to buy here. There are families with kids enjoying time outside all over my community. There are community ga ...Read More
therings scheduled throughout the year. We have security guards that patrol the neighborhood day and night. There are of course the usual annoyances like events at Sam Boyd or cars going too fast on Broadbent and the fear for my fur babies cause of coyotes but all in all not bad. Its generally quite and I feel safe. I believe you have to take the good with the bad and make the best of what there is in any neighborhood. Then again I am the glass is half full type person and/or you count your blessings and be grateful. There will always be those that are never happy no matter where they live and will always find something to complain about and then turn around and offer no solutions nor become involved in their own community to make things better. I am not a nay sayer and will continue to be a positive voice for my community. Oh and there is access to many amenities from praise and worship, shopping, dining, hiking, parks, movies, bowling, gambling, nightlife just about anything.

After living in Whitney, NV for a couple of years, it's very hard for me to recommend anyone to live here. The city is fine to get around as it's not too big, but the town doesn't have too much in terms of amenities as the biggest store we have here would be a Walmart Supercenter ...Read More
. Rent is slightly lower than most over places in Nevada, so that's a bit of a plus, but has relatively the same weather.
Job wise isn't much to move here for as even though rent is less, typically high paying jobs aren't very abundant in Whitney so unless you weren't getting paid much elsewhere, it's not much of a net benefit. In terms of school wise, high schools here has a lower graduation rate than the rest of Nevada so not the most recommended place for families.
In terms of entertainment, the city has some options such as golfing at the Royal Links Golf Club, or gambling at the Eastside Cannery Casino but for those who are younger and might want something like a nightclub, nothing here really.
