My family and I have lived in Truckee for almost two years. We aren’t big city people, so we have thoroughly liked living in this small mountain town. Probably the thing I love most about living here, is that, no matter what time of year it is, there is always something to do. In the Spring we love to pick a trail and go on a hike; in the Summer, we enjoy going to Donner Lake; come fall, again, we like to hike and see the colorful trees; and in the winter, we pick one of the nearby ski resorts and spend the day skiing or snowboarding.

While Truckee certainly wouldn’t be considered a large city, there are a number of local restaurants that we love to go to. Additionally, when we do need something that only a larger city has to offer, we have a few options to choose from. Reno, Nevada is a short 35-minute drive and the Sacramento/Roseville area in California is about an hour and a half away. However, almost everything we need can be found right here in Truckee.
