I enjoy living in South Yarmouth. It is a beautiful location with a quaint atmosphere, especially in the summer. The beaches are beautiful and tend to attract plenty of tourists. Of course, the tourism does make the neighborhood feel a bit crowded. However, shops pick up a lot of business, and everything becomes very lively.
When the summer ends, everything is much quiet and even somewhat boring. Many businesses focus on tourism, so they operate seasonally rather than year-round. Of course, that makes it difficult for some residents to find gainful employment. Another downfall is the fact that the cost of living is rather high, which is especially difficult for younger couples just starting out and families trying to make ends meet.
However, there are plenty of reasons why I love South Yarmouth. The schools are excellent, which is great for a parent like me. Also, there is plenty to do if you are familiar with some of the best areas in South Yarmouth. You could always head over to West Dennis Beach. Make sure you also check out Skipper Restaurant and Chowder house for some delicious fare.
