Nice city but not much to do... User Rating 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( Nov 02, 2018) The community is very strong in Harrisonburg but there isn't always something to do. There are not many stores here except for the mall but even then it is not that big. However, the city is safe and nice to live in the outskirts. ...Read More Read Less
Typical College Town User Rating 2 rating By ejenkins ( Mar 18, 2014) There's decent shopping here, if you like big box stores, if you want a variety you can find a little bit of it downtown.
There are some really great restaurants, such as Clementine's downtown. Basically, if you want some culture, live close to the downtown area.

The locals are townies that have small town VA points of views....they don't like the college kids either.
There's little to no diversity. There's a lot of drugs here too.
