Some nice people here, but this is yet another dying Mississippi town, drowning in poverty, race, crime, stupidity and misery. The entire Mississippi Delta is good farm land but is otherwise a human and cultural wasteland with a colorful history. Leave if you can.

Greenville: A Forgettable City In Missouri

Greenville is a very cheap place to live and for good cause. I lived here briefly but moved after a year. Jackson is the closest city and is more than two hours away, so, for the most part, you're a distance from any real entertainment. Crime here is pretty high so you'll want to make sure your car and home are locked up at night. There aren't much to choose from in terms of jobs either, so you might have to go with a couple part-time jobs.

There aren't many places to go shopping here either other than your basic grocery and general stores. Frisbee Park is probably the best area in Greenville and the only place I really enjoyed. Overall, Greenville is very limited when it comes to working, studying or raising a family. There are many other cities to choose from that are just as affordable and can also provide you with better long-term opportunities.
