When I first visited Chino Hills I couldn't help but think of how beautiful it was. With rolling green hills, snow covered mountains in the background and a modern urban center Chino Hills has become one of the most sought after areas to live near Los Angeles. In fact, the drive from Chino Hills to Los Angeles is only about 40 minutes (assuming the traffic is moving well). With an extremely low crime rate compared to other cities in California, Chino Hills just feels safe and comforting. Everyone you meet is very friendly, the weather is always gorgeous and being so close to Los Angeles and the ocean makes visiting a pleasure every time I do. While it's a very safe and pretty city, I do find it is a bit too suburban for my tastes. There's no edge, no grit like you find in Los Angeles or New York. Most of the restaurants in Chino Hills are either chain franchises or posh bistros, catering to a specific crowd. The shopping is good, lots of high end stores and art gallery's but again not much for the middle of the road America to see, do or buy. Over all I do like Chino Hills, it's a great place to spend a day wandering if you're in Los Angeles and have some free time.
