Winter Haven Is A Great Place To Live 5 rating By Anonymous ( Jun 25, 2018) If you are looking for affordable housing or reasonable prices to rent a home or an apartment then you should definitely check prices in Winter Haven. Also the homeowners insurance rates are very low. On a newer home worth $200,000 your homeowners insurance should be between $6 ...Read More 50-$750 a year (in 2018) but will be higher on an older home so try to buy a home in Winter Haven that was built after 2008 if you can. Legoland Florida ,CSX Transportation and Baycare Health Systems are all located in Winter Haven and they all give a big boost to the local economy. Although Area Vibes gives Winter Haven an "F" for crime (in 2018) the crime rates have dropped significantly over the past 3 years as evidenced by the FDLE crime stats report released in May of 2018. So once Area Vibes brings their crime stat figures up to date the crime rate in Winter Haven should show a significant improvement. My Wife and I feel very safe in Winter Haven. Finally Area Vibes gives Winter Haven a "D" in employment but in April of 2018 the Bureau Of Labor Statistics had the local unemployment rate at 3.7% which is below the national average. Read Less

Center of Florida is Fine By Me! 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( Apr 26, 2018) We moved to Winter Haven Florida to escape the snow of the Northeast. Unlike neighboring Orlando, the little community I live in here in Winter Haven is peaceful and quiet. We have parks and shopping centers, but we don't have billions of tourists.

We take our kids to Legoland f ...Read More or fun, it is less crowded than the big amusement parks. We have a theater, place to enjoy fishing, and airboat rides are fun. When we want to eat at the best restaurants, Orlando is up the road on I4. Living in Winter Haven puts us right in the middle of Kissimmee and Tampa, where shopping, food, and attractions are abundant.

The best areas in Winter Haven are the numerous state parks within an hour of my home. We have our choice of the Gulf of Mexico beaches or the Atlantic Ocean beaches, we are right in the middle of each. Tropical storms tend to miss us here too, another reach I lover Winter Haven. Read Less
