Waterloo, IA - Great For A Weekend Getaway User Rating 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( Aug 05, 2010) My wife and I are retired, and we like to travel and see different places. We planned a trip to Waterloo, IA. We chose to take our vacation there because we like to go to casinos. We stayed at The Isle Casino and Hotel for 3 days. This was a nice place to stay because there was a ...Read More casino on the site. The Hotel staffs were courteous at all times and helpful when we had questions. Our room was made to be comfortable and our wake-up calls were always on time.

During our trip to the city of Waterloo went to go see Cedar Valley Arboretum and Botanic Gardens. They had a one mile walking trail that enabled us to see all the beautiful gardens. The daffodils were just gorgeous. The staffs were very nice and offered my wife a wheelchair to ride in because she tends to tire easily. This made our visit even more enjoyable.

In Waterloo, we ate a restaurant called Bishop's Buffet. We had a choice to either eat from the buffet or order off of their menu. We enjoyed the salads, and the selection of pies was great, they had every kind of pie imaginable! We were impressed with the food and service. However, the bathrooms were not very clean.

We enjoyed our visit to Waterloo, IA and plan on going back next year. We would recommend visiting this friendly town to anyone. Waterloo, IA is a great place for a weekend getaway. Read Less
