Sunnyside, WA is a small agricultural-based town located outside of Yakima. There are around 16,000 people living here and most people who are employed either work in the fields, one of the wineries, or at the Darigold milk processing plant located downtown. I think it is a pretty affordable place to live as the average home price is around $120,000.
I think anyone planning on living in Sunnyside should know that there really isn't a lot to see and do in Sunnyside. It is a very quiet community and really the only main shopping place is the local Walmart. In order to do things like catch a movie or other entertainment it requires a drive to Yakima which is about 40 minutes away.
I think there are some pretty decent restaurants in Sunnyside, though, especially if you're looking for Hispanic food. Some good places to check out are El Valle Family Mexican Restaurant and El Conquistador Mexican Restaurant which are both favorites of the locals.
