I only lived in Sun Valley for a year and couldn't wait to get away. Upon first glance, the town seems nice enough. However, after living there, you realize that isn't the case. The city is mixed with nice neighborhoods and trashy neighborhoods. It is significantly cheaper to live in Sun Valley than places like Reno, and, unfortunately, the cheap prices don't bring top quality people.
Sun Valley is positioned right in the middle of the desert, which, in my opinion isn't ideal. It seemed like I was constantly battling the dirt. The dirt is really dry, so when the wind picks up, it easily carries the dirt and it lands everywhere you don't want it to.
I say, however, that if the above-mentioned things don't bother you, you will find more bang for your buck in Sun Valley when it comes to the price of homes. You are able to get a bigger home, with more land, and still be close to the city, easily getting into Reno within fifteen minutes.
