I call St. Helens, Oregon my home and have for 16 years now. This is a small-town and if you are looking for a slow-paced lifestyle, then this is the place for you. The local crime rate is low and overall the cost to rent or buy a house is comparable to local areas.
The largest issue that I have found while living in St. Helens, Oregon is that the schools are not up to par. Many of them need upgrades in order to catch up with surrounding districts in all areas. They seem to overall offer a decent education, but they could definitely stand some improvement in many areas.
The best areas in St. Helens, Oregon, include the celebrations that the local community plans throughout the year. There is a great Fourth of July Celebration here in town that all of the residents enjoy. You can also choose to take part in the Festival of the Fairies and MayDay Celebration every year if you need more things to do.
