nd include a BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) station, the San Francisco International Airport, and easy access to both the Bayshore Freeway and Interstate 280. South San Francisco is known locally as "South City", however, it does not share a common border with San Francisco.
South San Francisco is more industrial and residential than a tourist destination. Travelers have the option of many different hotels due to the city's proximity to the airport. The two top employers are United Airlines and Genentech, and many other biotechnology companies are based there. Grand Avenue, South San Francisco's downtown area, offers a variety of stores and restaurants, as well as being the location of the City Hall. Bertolucci's promises a fantastic dining experience for those who love fine Italian cuisine.
