Best Little Place in the world 5 rating By mmydad ( Apr 21, 2017) Punta Gorda has the nightlife if that is what you are looking for. If you are looking for peace and quiet you can find that as well. Nice little town but very slow 3 rating By capriccio ( Mar 03, 2016) Punta Gorda is not a place for younger people or people who live a fast life. It is great, however, for older people. I would say that the majority of the population ...Read More would be older people and/or "rednecks". In this town, people are mainly either wealthy or very poor and there isn't much in between. There is a variety of living styles such as condos, villas, single family homes and mobile homes.

Some of the things the city has to offer are Laishley Park Marina, several parks, Charlotte Harbor Event Center, Fishermen's Village for shopping and dining, King Fisher Fleet, sailing and boat clubs, bicycle path around the city, Muscle Car City, Florida Tracks and Trails, Peace River Wildlife Center, YMCA, Tennis Club, golf courses, Palm Auto Mall, Bobcat Wilderness Adventure, flea market, events and festivals, Charlotte Players, hotels with waterfront dining, marinas, boat ramps, and dog parks.
