Living in Prairieville, La, there is nice, tolerable weather throughout the year. The winter time doesn't fall below 22 degrees, averages about 55 degrees throughout. The summer averages 81 degrees [maybe a bit humid for many], spring time averages 69 degrees. However, the chances for precipitation is a bit higher than other cities in the United States. There isn't too much entertainment in the city, actually zero, but there are some really good fitness centers: Gold's Gym, Anytime Fitness, Foxy's Fitness Center and more. There are also some nice parks for walks and to take the kids: OakGrove Community Park, Jambalaya Park, Prairieville Park & Playground and more.
There are very few boutiques, but what would you expect out of a city with a population of under 30,000? - there is a great flea market located right off of Airline Highway. But, food selections are excellent here. Airline Highway consists of many great restaurants: Sammy's Grill, Las Palmas Mexican Grill [one of my favorites], Shawarma Greek Xpress & Catering, the list continues.
