Living in Prairieville, LA User Rating 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 14, 2018) Living in Prairieville, La, there is nice, tolerable weather throughout the year. The winter time doesn't fall below 22 degrees, averages about 55 degrees throughout. The summer averages 81 degrees [maybe a bit humid for many], spring time averages 69 degrees. However, the chance ...Read More s for precipitation is a bit higher than other cities in the United States. The cost of living can be quite excessive, with an 13% edge over the average cost of living, but the utilities costs are excessively lower than average.

The poverty rate is 51% lower than the national average. Some of the best areas near Prairieville to live are Oak Hills Place, LA; Shenandoah, LA and Brusly. LA. There isn't too much entertainment in the city, actually zero, but there are some really good fitness centers: Gold's Gym, Anytime Fitness, Foxy's Fitness Center and more. There are also some nice parks for walks and to take the kids: OakGrove Community Park, Jambalaya Park, Prairieville Park & Playground and more.

There are very few boutiques, but what would you expect out of a city with a population of under 30,000? - there is a great flea market located right off of Airline Highway. But, food selections are excellent here. Airline Highway consists of many great restaurants: Sammy's Grill, Las Palmas Mexican Grill [one of my favorites], Shawarma Greek Xpress & Catering, the list continues. Read Less
