Port Huron is a small town in Michigan with few opportunities when it comes to work and education. The closest big city is Detroit which is about an hour away. The average home price and salary here in Port Huron are well below the state average and to be honest, it shows.

On the bright side, Port Huron is right on the southern tip of Lake Huron. It's the best area in Port Huron and a fun spot in the summer if you like to go fishing or to spend an afternoon out on the lake. There are a few parks in the area if you like to go for walks. The stores and restaurants in Port Huron are spread out throughout the city. Since there isn't any public transit, you'll need your own car to get around easily. If you're not a fan of cold winters, Port Huron might not be for you. It can get very cold and windy because of the lake.
