I lived in Parker City, Colorado, and my childhood couldn't have been happier. I remember there being many activities for those who loved the outdoors. My family would always go walking through the numerous forest trails, and when I got older there were many areas where I was abl ...Read More
e to ride my bike and even ski. Parker has always been a great area for those who enjoy the outdoors. I don't every recall ever having a particularly hot summer, but the winters were always below zero.
I go back to visit my family, who still live there, every year and I am amazed at the amount of construction that has occurred over the past few years. There have been a lot of renovations made to the schools, which is wonderful, and there are a lot more shops and restaurants, which is also good for those who aren't as outdoorsy as me, but with construction there is noise, and those unsightly trucks and cranes everywhere. At least when construction is done Parker City will be a better place.
Speaking of schools, I am proud to say that Parker City has some of the highest scoring students in all of Colorado. The teachers are just so interested in helping their students learn. If I could ship my family back so my children could attend those schools I would, I am glad I did. it isn't just the teachers, the whole community is so welcoming and pleasant, they make you feel as though you are family from the moment you say hello. Between the friendly people and the beautiful landscapes I would highly recommend people to at least visit Parker City, Colorado so they can enjoy the city for all it has to offer.
