Our neighboring city, Santa Maria, is a bit of a different story however. The closer you get, the more you’ll see buildings age like the times, and the crime scene go up. They have a lot of crime, and after all these years, I’m amazed it hasn’t found it way into Orcutt.

That said, you’re never more than a 10 minute walk to the closet center, which will have shops and stores to satisfy most needs. The town is quiet, so there’s not much to do regarding a nightlife, but I wouldn’t recommend Santa Maria for that. Just a bit sketchy for my tastes. Read Less
