Located in San Diego County, Oceanside has a populaion of only around 200,000 people. The bar and club scene is definitely much less active than other cities in Southern California. Although Oceanside is a small city, it has many great restaurants that serve delicious steak and seafood as well as a handful of interesting attractions to visit.

With its relaxing coastal atmosphere, Oceanside is the type of city where someone can go and let the rest of the world disappear. When in Oceanside, people should stop by 333 Pacific, which offers 180 degree views of the oceanfront. Steaks, chops, crabs, lobster, sushi rolls, fish, and sashimi are all on the menu.       As mentioned, the Oceanside Fishing Pier is the top attraction in the area, and it is a place where locals and tourists come to shop, dine, and enjoy evenings watching the sunset over the Pacific Ocean. This is also one of the city's top surf spots where you can catch a wave in the warm waters of the ocean. For those who rather stay on land and learn more about surfing, Oceanside is home to the California Surf Museum. This surf mecca provides tales about the men and women who have made the sport what it is today. It also has a collection of classic surfboards that have surfed some of the gnarliest waves in the world. Mission San Luis Rey is an old California mission that is a functional church today. Taking a tour of the church lets you reconnect with a higher power, and it is a wonderful way to spend a few hours.

      Camp Pendleton is a large United States Marine Corps installation that offers a lot of employment opportunities to those who live in Oceanside. The public schools are also one of the best places to find a job. One of the nice things about Oceanside in comparison to other California cities is that it does not have the same type of traffic jams as LA or San Francisco. Biking and walking are also popular ways to get around Oceanside thanks to the amazing weather that the city experiences on a regular basis.
