When I first drove through Oakley, I thought it was just another sleepy, historical town that got a bit too much traffic from being in the right place. Main Street's traffic juxtaposed against the beautiful landscape can seem a little out of place, but it's waking up a lot of areas.

That's a good thing! The best areas in Oakley are the vineyards, and keep an eye out for anyone growing hops. If you love wine tours, wine making, the scenery of grape trellises or anything related to viticulture, you have a rare opportunity to glimpse at a growing, modern city with just a dash of country charm left behind.

This is a perfect chance to break into new industry, and I'm talking craft brews. New winemakers, new microbreweries, fresh grapes for people with a renewed interest in agriculture, and a culture where what was once considered hipster is now just "enjoying something nice."

Living in Oakley can take you back to nature while still enjoying city conveniences, and if you're into craft brewing or winemaking, consider this a great production area that still feels like home.
