Living in Kinnelon is everything you would expect in the Garden State. Kinnelon is not the New Jersey you see in the travel brochures, far from the white-sand beaches of the Jersey Shore or the congestion of cities like Newark and Trenton. Kinnelon is only a couple miles from the border of Upstate New York, an entirely different experience than the rest of the Garden State.
Although the best areas in Kinnelon are the outdoors, we have our share of excellent restaurants and shopping too. If I want to drive to the outlet malls, I hit the New Jersey Turnpike, if I want high-end shopping, Manhattan is just over the bridge. The Garden State Parkway is a quick ride to Atlantic City and the rest of the beach communities along the Atlantic coast.
This area has lots of mountains, and in the winter I can get to a number of the best ski slopes in the country in minutes. My neighborhood is nestled away from the traffic you see closer to the state lines.
