New Jersey: The Garden State

New Jersey is home to more than 9 million people. It’s a small state, but many love the simplistic nature of this region. It was settled by the Delaware Indians more than 10,000 years ago. Some say that the strong brogue that natives have stems back from the 20,000 Indians that settled here. Over time the language changed, but a thick accent remained. Today, this state is one amazing place to live. It has beautiful parks, plenty of water, and there are great employment opportunities. If you are thinking about moving to New Jersey, one of these best places may be the ideal spot for you.

New Jersey is located on the eastern coast of the United States. It is bordered by Pennsylvania, New York, and Delaware. In fact, some of the state is located in the New York metropolitan area and also in Philadelphia. It is the fourth smallest state, and the 11th-most densely populated in the country. The capital is Trenton. The most populous city is Newark, which is in Essex County. The second largest city is Jersey City, which is located in Hudson County. Patterson is the third largest area, which is located in Passaic County. These three areas have more than one-tenth of the state's population. Because of its small area, only three other states have less square footage, they are Road Island, Delaware, and Connecticut.

The diverse geography in New Jersey does not go unnoticed. The magnificent Atlantic Ocean brings much tourism into the state. Atlantic City has been a hot spot of activity for decades. Many of the state’s tourism funds come from this “Vegas” like area. Those who want to enjoy Mother Nature can visit Mount Tammany or Sunrise Mountain. This Mid-Atlantic state has something for everyone. This area has four distinct seasons, which is enjoyed by many. While they get plenty of snow, they also get ample sunshine.

New Jersey is a hot bed of activity. As mentioned above, many come to this state to see Broadway-style shows, play at the casinos, and enjoy the beaches. However, there is a long list of other exciting things to do. The City of Hoboken is close to New York City, and it is home to that infamous Carlo’s Bakery that is on television. They are known for their incredible nightlife, but did you know that the first ever game of recorded baseball was played here? Long Branch is a place where you can let your hair down. The culture here is amazing as is the number of party goers. Of course, the main activity in this beach community is surfing. Enjoy the Lumia Theater here for a show that will have you singing and dancing along. It is easy to see that there is a good mix of entertainment to be found wherever you go in this state.

New Jersey has some some amazing cities and neighborhoods for you to explore. If you want to find the perfect spot to settle down in New Jersey, you know that it is not an easy feat. We want to help you by giving you the best places to live in this state. You can customize your list of the best places to live in New Jersey and specify things that are important to you.
