Do not move here User Rating 1 rating By Anonymous ( Oct 05, 2019) Jefferson city is the most racist place to live. If you are not white do not move here. Great Attractions in Jefferson City, MO User Rating 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 24, 2010) I have lived in St. Louis, MO for the past 21 years. During this time, I have had the privilege of visiting Jefferson City, MO numerous times. While Jefferson City is the state capital of Missouri, it is also a relatively small city. I would say most of the tourism is centered on ...Read More the historical significance of the city, as well as it being the center point of state politics. Despite its small-town feel, there are some good attractions as well as much to do and see in Jefferson City.

The first thing I usually check out in Jefferson City is the State Capitol. Like many state capitols, it is based on Roman architecture, with large columns and a dome. The Capitol also houses the Missouri State Museum, which I typically visit as well. Afterwards, I like to go over the Governor's Mansion, which is where the first family of Missouri lives. Another place I really like to go is Jefferson Landing, which is right on the Missouri River. It has a very 19th century feel to it, as if you are in a Mark Twain story. Not much nightlife to speak of, but I always enjoy my time in Jefferson City due to the attractions and site seeing. Read Less
