50 years in Golden Valley 1 rating By GiJoe ( Nov 30, 2019) I have lived here off and on for almost 50 years. I have seen the valley go from a few buildings and no niebors for miles to what it is today. Like any other rural community, Golden Valley does have its "good" and it's "bad" areas however the bad areas seem to outweigh the good. ...Read More The extremely high unemployment coupled with no available resources has made the crime statistics 60% higher than national average. The only positive aspect of this statistic is that the ratio of "violent" crimes ie.. murder is lower than national average. The probability of being involved in a vehicle accident with someone who is uninsured is very high, the possibility of any personal property ie.. motorcycles, quads, or anything that could be sold as recycling to be stolen is very high. If you leave anything unsecured you can expect it to be stolen, to include but not limited to the gasoline in your vehicle. The average response time for any emergency services are usually never discovered by new residents untill it's too late, let this review be of for warning if nothing else... the services available in Golden Valley require you to be proactive in every aspect of home, health and personal security. If you do not have firearms, basic life saving skills or home security systems you should not reside here.
