Stopping in Encinitas on a trip a year or so ago, I was amazed at how much the city offered in terms of sports - especially water sports. The residents of Encinitas focus on one main form of recreation involving water - surfing. Maui Surf Academy, Leucadia Surf School and the Sou ...Read

th Swell surf lessons all provide residents and visitors with the knowledge needed to entertain themselves on the waves that crash on to the warm California coastline.
If the cruising the waves isn't your form of entertainment, the air may be. I found the Sky's the Limit Ballooning Adventures to be quite interesting, to say the least. Licensed pilots hoist you into the air in a hot air balloon that is inspected regularly for safety measures. The balloon rides were fantastic!
Moonlight beach offers visitors and residents the chance to relax during the day if they wish. This family beach provides a nice place to rest while the children play in the sand and surf of California. Swami's Beach is available for family fun as well, however it tends to be overcrowded with people involved with Encinitas other recreational sport - surfing. Surfers flock to this beach to enjoy the nice height of the waves.
When the beaches of Encinitas are crowded, you might visit the San Dieguito Heritage Museum for an afternoon of learning about the historical facts of the area. Finishing off the trip, I played a round of golf at the Encinitas Ranch Golf Course, which sits on a ranch while displaying views of the beautiful ocean side the whole way around.
From the Brookside Garden areas that are set up into two categories of fragrance garden and rose garden, to the tourist attraction of The Civil War in Silver Spring, Maryland's Wheaton-Glenmont region has a sweet, country home style appearance and feel.
During a visit to the Wheaton area, a visit to the various community and neighborhood parks left me with enough of an outsider's opinion about the city as a whole. The residents displayed courteous attention to tourists of their city. From an old-fashioned set of tables set up for checkers in the middle of General Getty Park, to the spa known as "Face by KC", this little city knows how to entertain guests.
The night revealed a small theater presented works from international classical writers such as Pushkin, Moliere, and Chekhov, to name a few. The Stanislavsky Theater Studio also boasts a free program designed to bring students from around the DC area in to the theater crowd.
Barnaby's club is a small pub type of get together place for the residents and visitors of Wheaton. Kick back in the University Street gathering place for relaxing comfort of a good old-fashioned pub style ambiance.
