Elmira is scummy-beware 0.5 rating By Jellybean Fugazi ( May 29, 2017) Elmira, NY used to be a good place to live. Currently, it is full of scummy people and I would not recommend it to anyone. Most residents are drunks or drug addicts. The schools are awful. No shopping at all unless you go to Horseheads. Some good food, but you're surrounded by sc ...Read More ummy people and have to worry about drunk drivers at all times of the day. If you go out in the evening you have to again, worry about drunk drivers, as well as stabbings and shootings. Also, most residents are very racist and ignorant. Read Less
