I have lived in East Lansing, Michigan for ten years and have yet to get bored with the vibrant mix of energy that infuses the city. The Downtown area is mixed in with the town's university and is filled with restaurants, galleries, coffee houses and shopping. There are also muse ...Read More
ums, art galleries, and concerts that can keep you busy. I will say that if you want a quieter way of life, living in East Lansing might not be for you, as the nightlife in the city does not go to sleep until three am.
There are always activities to do in East Lansing. One of the things I like to do is pick a restaurant that I have never been to and try it out. There are many different restaurants to satisfy anybody's appetite. One of my favorites is Crunchy's restaurant. Crunchy's has been voted "best burger in town" and I can attest to that. Crunchy's also has over twenty- five beers on tap. If you do not like hamburgers then there many other great eating choices in the East Lansing area such as Beggars Banquet, Bistro 43, and El Azteco.
The good thing about having the college here is the fact we have excellent facilities available to the public too. The W J Beal Botanical Gardens has over 4,000 species of plants and is the oldest operating garden in the United States. East Lansing also has Michigan Energy Options, a house that demonstrates all the ways we can save and reduce energy use. There are also many parks, walking trails, and outdoor activities that can keep you busy and active. My favorite outdoor area is Adado Riverfront Park. There are lots of walking trails, areas to go bike riding, and there are activities placed along the river walk such as the Potter Park Zoo or the Turner- Dodge House.
