Not a Lot to Recommend Clarksdale, MS
Sometimes when you want to say a lot of good things about a place, you just can't. After living in Clarksdale for most of my life I honestly haven't seen a lot to recommend it. The crime has gotten completely terrible here. The schools weren't very good when I was a student and nowadays I hear that they have gone downhill even further. Jobs don't come easy and decent housing is really hard to come across. We don't even have very many things like restaurants or stores to enjoy.
We do have a few attractions nearby. There's the home of outlaw Jesse James which has been turned into a museum, there's my personal favorite, the Glore Psychiatric Museum, then there's the Pony Express Museum and the Remington Nature Center. I just can't say that Clarksdale is one of the best areas in the state. The people are very nice for the most part, and we do have these things to do for fun, but it leaves a lot to be desired, in my humble opinion.
