I lived in Ashland for about fifteen years and I just recently moved. For years, I always enjoyed living in Ashland and I enjoyed the fact that the town is relatively close to both West Virginia and Ohio since my wife and I have family in both states. Ashland is only minutes away ...Read More
from Huntington and I would always take my children to see the Marshall University football games. However, living near Huntington, West Virginia has it's downfalls. Over the past few years the town has become ridden with drugs, which have thus began to flood into Ashland, resulting in an increase of crime as well.
Aside from recent drug and crime issues, Ashland is not a bad place to live. The living expenses there are relatively low compared to other states. There's also a decent amount of jobs in the area, especially in the steel industry and medical industry because there are so many factories and hospitals in the surrounding areas.
