Living in Watervills is definitely NOT something I would encourage anyone to do. I have lived here for 8 years now and let me tell you, things get better instead of worse here. It seems that the community just doesn't care about anything: the schools are terrible (tons of dropouts and very low graduation rates), the astronomical crime rate makes people afraid to go anywhere after dark, there are no jobs and no decent places to live. The weather is always dreary and depressing, like even it is sympathizing with those of us who live here.
There's nothing to recommend this place by way of entertainment or tourist attractions, either. We have the Waterville Opera House where you can see a good music show sometimes, The Colby College Museum of Art, some decent escape room experiences out at Entrapme Escape Rooms, and a pretty good place to get some good BBQ and a cold beer over at The Proper Pig. Other than that, there's not much to say. Waterville just isn't one of the best areas in the state to call home.
