Van Buren, AR: A Southern City By The Forest
If you're looking for an upscale suburb close to a major city, then Van Buren might not be for you. It's a pretty small city that is quite a way from any big metropolitan areas and while it may be lacking in a lot of amenities, it is a comfortable town for people seeking a relaxing lifestyle. The Ozark National Forest is very close and I think it's the best area in Van Buren. It has plenty of spots you can go hiking or camping in, or you can even just visit it for an afternoon.

Van Buren is a very affordable city and you won't have to spend a lot of money to have a nice home here. The local job market isn't the best and you won't have a great selection of jobs, but the cost of living easily compensates. You will need your own car living here. There is no public transit at all and since there aren't many stores in town, you'll probably have to drive around a bit.
