I have made Valparaiso, Indiana my home for the past 5 years and I do not plan on moving anytime soon. While many think of it as just a college town, Valparaiso has a lot to offer young professionals, retirees, and young families all the same.
Valpo, as it is known to locals is home to Valparaiso University. This private university is known for its academics as well as its NCAA Division I athletic programs. The city is also home to a satellite campus of Purdue University called Purdue Northwest.
The city of Valparaiso3 has a small town feel with a population of just over 30,000 people. The community features a rich performing arts community that includes the Chicago Street Theatre, Memorial Opera House, and the Valparaiso Theatrical Company.
Families thrive in the small town with the school district being one of the finest in the state of Indiana. The city features a robust park district with no less than 14 parks available for public use.
