Suitcase City: So Warm and Sunny! User Rating 3 rating By Anonymous ( Apr 26, 2018) Living in University has been a nice experience, and it is truly a college town. This small city has a very diverse population with a laid-back feel. The city center is only a few miles from The University of Florida, which makes it very convenient; also, the James A. Haley Veter ...Read More ans Hospital is close to downtown.

The rent is relatively low, which is good news for college students and young families. There is a lot of nice shopping here, but it is lacking in the employment sector; it can take people a while to find a job. One thing I don’t like about University is the crime rate; it is pretty high. Another thing I don’t like is that the school system isn’t that great, it’s the same as the national average but it could be a lot better, especially with a big university right down the street.

The weather is generally warm all year around, but when the weather gets hot, the best areas in University to go to are the beautiful parks and then head down to the beach and the Tampa Bay area, which are only a few miles away. Overall, University is a nice place to live, especially while you’re going to college here. Read Less
