University Place Washington: Small Town Feel in a Big City 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 14, 2018) I always reveled in the small town feel when living in University Place Washington. The thriving city has a population of over 31,000 and was named for its private liberal arts school, the University of Puget Sound that was founded in 1800. The city has great appeal and excellent ...Read More shopping venues all around the district. It is beautifully manicured and well maintained. Crime remains at an all-time low, the weather is moderate, and the education facilities are above average on a national scale. Nearby cities include Tacoma and Fircrest.

The cost of living is a bit pricier than neighboring cities, but the beauty of the greenery, waterscapes, and mountains often make up for it. Some of the prettiest and best areas in University Place are Chambers Bay. It has great golfing, breathtaking views for miles and excellent walking trails. Perfect for families, singles, and dog lovers. My favorite time of day to visit is around sunset. I have taken some of the most interesting and majestical photos here. Read Less
