This town is very family oriented and focused on providing safe environment for all residents. With the population of about 55,000, it is small enough to retain the small town feeling. It is large enough to attract many visitors and keep the local inhabitants occupied with various local events such as Benches On The Avenue art displays held annually in the downtown area. This is truly a unique event and our town is visited regularly by many art enthusiasts. The close proximity of Tinley to Chicago provides easy access to wide varieties of entertainment and many of the residents choose to commute daily to work.

The average cost of a home in Tinley falls between $250,000 and $300,000. For that price, you will able to find a large house or townhouse. The taxes are low in comparison to other parts of the country, and most residents in this town own homes instead of renting or leasing. The average price of renting a dwelling is $900. The median age is 40 and females are accounted for 60 percent of the population.
