I Like My Little City That Is Taunton, MA 4 rating By Anonymous ( Jan 30, 2012) I have lived in Taunton, MA for about five years and overall I like this little city a lot. I'm a writer so I like the history that Taunton is proud of, and I have to say the library system is excellent. The city itself is clean and where I live everyone keeps their home well man ...Read More icured. I'm not nervous living here, either. I used to live in Boston and there are some areas in that city that you definitely do not want to be caught in. Obviously Boston is much bigger and so has more crime to deal with, but overall I would say the Taunton police force does an excellent job here.

When I moved from Boston to live in Taunton, I thought I would miss the big city life. The truth is, I don't. What's great about where I live right now is that Boston is less than 50 miles away, and Providence, Rhode Island is even closer. So I can still go see the big music acts when they come around, and if I need to have me some city time I just get on the highway and I'm almost already there.

The people who live in Taunton are typical New Englanders. They keep to themselves mostly, but they won't hesitate to help if you need it. That's one of the things I love. I am not one of those people who needs to know what her neighbors are doing all the time, which I suppose is why I like New England so much anyway.

I'm not a great cook so I'm happy with the restaurant selection here. It's a small city but really everything you could possibly want, from Italian to Chinese to fast food, is readily available. Read Less
