Those who prefer to avoid the sandy environments can stroll down Murphy Avenue in Sunnyvale’s downtown district instead to enjoy brunch spots, independent retail stores and nightlife venues. The scenic historical buildings paint a lovely scene that is reminiscent of simpler times. Indeed, most residents have little to worry about since the city boasts one of the lowest occurrences of crime in the United States.

Sunnyvale is home to several giant companies that attract some of the brightest people around. Google, Apple, LinkedIn and Yahoo are four of the biggest employers in the area. Travelers can drive or take the Caltrain commuter rail if they desire to explore the hub of Northern California and easily return to Sunnyvale, which has fewer crowds and no homeless people.

Sunnyvale also wouldn’t be a prominent town in the region without bicycle paths. Residents can soak up the sun and warm weather by getting around by bike. It’s a must for eco-conscious people who care about staying healthy. Of course, it does rain occasionally, so they can also take the bus or light rail to get around as well. Transportation is affordable, but the cost of living is on the high side compared to other parts of the state. Home prices can surpass one million dollars, but the price is worth it for affluent people who want to surround themselves with luxury.

There is no shortage of nature in Sunnyvale. Residents can find not one but two premium golf courses as well as Baylands Park, a sprawling 70-acre public haven that overlooks a wetland preserve. Residents, therefore, have the beauty of native California practically in their backyard.
