Good life User Rating 4 rating By VickiK ( Jan 08, 2017) Starkville is a clean city. The air is clean & the seasons are lovely. The people are pleasant and welcoming. It is easy to get around town & there are lots of nice fast food places to eat. Traffic is minimal. We have great grocery stores, but retail shopping is generally gea ...Read More red for the college age crowd. Housing is very diverse but not cheap. There is plenty do do in Starkville: churches are active, lots of great civic organizations, sports activities readily available thru MSU. Starkville has a good movie theatre. Unfortunately, the downside is travel, as the nearby Golden Triangle Airport is very limited. Healthcare is basic & one must leave town for specialty health care. We do not have children but I understand there are several private as well as public education options. Read Less

You see MSU stuff EVERYWHERE since the d1 school is in town. MSU is what makes starkville ...Read More what it is...There are ghettos in starkville..if moving please do not move to the area close to odd fellows cemetary off of MLK it is GHETTOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO...i think it is called westside park not sure but theres a public swimming pool in that area...its rough...great place to send your kids to go to msu..not much to do in starkville...but you have memphis, birmingham, jackson, atlanta, and the alabama state line nearby so its not so bad...be sure to visit a place called PAPs in ackerman..great place to eat Read Less
