Ive lived here for 2 years and I must state that my experiance with the city has been pretty poor !! , First if you are from the west side thats mainly Oakland county anything west of Woodward get ready for a huge surprise !!!!!! you will be continuely sited and fined for anythin ...Read More
g you do to your property from dirt and grading to even not shoving your front side walk on and on and on , Now Ive done reseach on this and what I find is that the taxes cant cover everything the city dose with the per capita Ave income of 55-65k per house hold and the taxs they collect so you know what they do ??????? you guessed it they hit up every citizen that lives there with any kind of small fine they can pimp!!!!! you with to make up the the difference , also be very careful they also have the police drive around between 3-5Am looking for anything that they can ticket you for so they can keep there jobs as well anything from parking in the street over night to have an expired tab by one day . keep in mind there are no warnings in Saint clair shores remeber they have to COLLECT THAT MONEY !!!!!!! , Now what is really sad is that most people in saint clair shores are very hard working good people and they live honest lives and are very proud of there property but when your very city is taking advantage in every way possible of every aspect of your property and and the smallest aspects of you enjoying your life by nickel and dimeing you to death you have to ask your self why the hell would I live here , its a beautiful place jefferson ave and lake saint clair but dont fool your self its only for looks really and you will pay for it one way or another and keep in mind if they ever did increase the taxs enough were people would stop being harrassed by the the city inspectors then they know all to well that the city would have a lot of people moving and OHHHHHHH they dont want that now do they ? So were dose checks and balances come into play well when your nieghboring community is Grosse Pointe and you have to keep up appearances for reasons i need not explain well you understand , Well thats my take on the City of Saint Clair Shores michigan. - Thank you

As a native Michigander, I have to say that St. Clair Shores is a nice city but is not filled with ambitious people. I found the people in this city to actually be very lazy, and at times I even felt unsafe in the city. I find it interesting on a personal level that so many Michi ...Read More
ganders in areas like this complain about the economy, but they do nothing to actually revive it through their hard work. St. Clair Shores does have a beautiful view on Jefferson Avenue, to be fair to the nice scenic attributes of the city.
I do enjoy jogging along Jefferson Avenue to stay in shape. The view of the water is stunning and makes people want to actually stay in shape. There are also some nice restaurants in St. Clair Shores that feature some great seafood. Aside from the nice jogging areas and restaurants, I still have to say that the community is kind of a downer. The community in this city is just not that upbeat and fun. Instead, I feel that a lot of people in this city are in some sort of depression and do not actually work hard to get out of that sort of thing.
