A blue collar town, late to bloom in the boom of NWA, property can still be had at resonoble prices, knowing codes are in place and enforced to back up your investment in the community makes it money well spent. The downtown is the new spot for artists as are the older neighborh ...Read More
oods that surround it. The spike in crime is between the new immigrant gangs which the police are well aware of, and are sadly separating the latinos from intigrating with the whites beyond the wal-mart intercom- the language is keeping us apart- but their kids and ours are mixing well.
The smell and the lack green- broad swaths of asphalt keep our town looking and smelling worse than our neighbors. The houses we have are well built and hard to come by- when they come on the market- buy it because they wont stay for sale long, and the prices are great. A varied mix of people - the largest group of Marshel Ilsanders on the mainland, we have people from all parts of Mexico who share their crafts and their food. New artists and carpenters find a house to restore along Mill Street or behind the Hospital.
It is city in change, now the fourth largest in Arkansas (2015) that needs new ideas and people to help it grow in the right directions. Land and house values can only go up. Lots of possibilities: preservationist, bike shops, city planners, revenue builders and new city council men/ women (2-4 decades plus are enough ). So come and make the city yours!

I lived in Springdale, AR for about one year while my mother was there. I relocated from Charlotte, NC to the city. If you like people, then this is the city to move to. I have dealt with a lot of people in my life, but I have never met as many friendly people as I have in Spring ...Read More
dale. There are also many things to do outdoors. There are not that many shopping areas or venues inside where you can have fun, but there is enough to do.
I love history, so I was excited to see that there are so many museums in the city. One of the museums that I visited was the Shiloh Museum. There are the typical exhibits that don't move, but one of my favorite things was the live programs. The museum has several different shows through the year that tell about the Ozarks. A barn is located at the museum that you can walk through to find out about early life in the area. The city also enjoys festivals. I think that there was a festival every other month while I was there. The festivals are full of music, laughter and fun. We sat on the sidewalks of the town to watch most of the parades in the festival, but some of them had vendors we could shop from.
One of the things that I like to do is eat. Springdale does not have a big selection of restaurants. The restaurants they do have are fairly similar to each other. Most of them feature hamburgers and grilled food. Many of the restaurants also serve steak. I did notice that there are several hotels in the city. If you are planning a trip to the area, you will not have any trouble finding somewhere to stay. This is also a big sports city, so be sure to check out a baseball game or two while you are there.
