very affluent Mill Creek; the area serves as a bedroom community for Seattle. Silver Firs Elementary School is a major community center for the area; the school is in use year round by various local organizations.
Silver Firs has the usual complement of stores and restaurants, but it's a little island of suburb in a sea of rural areas. The southwestern corner of the area is what the locals, myself included, still call "buffalo corner," although the buffalo themselves have been gone for decades. If you're looking for nightlife or professional sports, your best bet is Everett to the west, or even Seattle to the southwest, depending on whether you want major or minor leagues.
