Shively, KY: Home of the Waverly Hills Sanitorium! 3.5 rating By Anonymous ( May 23, 2018) Yep! The terrifying Waverly Hills Sanitorium is right here, and it is just about our biggest claim to fame! One of the most haunted locations in the United States, it makes up for the otherwise not-so-grand experience of living in Shively. You can also visit the Louisville Mega Caverns, the Kentucky Derby Museum, and take the Kentucky Bourbon Boys Tour. Since we're located so close to Louisville, if you feel like doing some driving you can find things to do for fun.

The depressing truth is, there is a really bad crime rate here, the schools are terrible (high dropout rates and low grad rates when those should be the other way around!). There aren't enough jobs to go around, and good luck finding a decent place to live. The housing market here is also a joke. I've been living in Shively for 10 years now, and all I can say is, it would be a nice place to visit, but I don't recommend staying here. Read Less
