Lived in Shepherdstown for over 12 years...very happy! 4.5 rating By Anonymous ( Sep 13, 2021) Quaint, quiet college town w/the Potomac River nearby. It has the "AAA" factor - Academics (Shepherd University & the National Conservation Training Center for the DoI), athletics (typically see people walking, jogging, biking or kayaking on the river) and the arts (Shepherd Uni ...Read More versity Liberal Arts program is stellar and the Shepherdstown Film Society annually hosts the "American Conservation Film Festival", as well as, the "Contemporary American Theater Festival). Not too far from trains and buses that go into Maryland and D.C. And not too far from the Pennsylvanian and the Virginian borders. Prior to the pandemic, the public transportation built up their fleet w/the "Eastern Panhandle Transport Authority" travelling between Martinsburg, Shepherdstown and Charles Town. If this town is imperfect to some, have to ask the question ..."then why are so many DC types relocating to Shepherdstown since 2020?" They know a classy little hip town when they see it! Read Less

Lack of growth 0.5 rating By Sam Hill ( Jan 17, 2018) I lived in Shepherdstown for 12 years, when the housing market crashed Shepherdstown never recovered. Many other areas have recovered much faster. Shepherdstown continues to loose businesses and cost of living in this area is much higher than Virginia. ...Read More Read Less
