Another over taxed decling coal region town 0.5 rating By dryback ( May 26, 2015) Corrupt Shamokin is falling apart rapidly. The infrastructure is stuck in 1969. most businesses have shuttered operations and the tax base has gone to dogs. The weather in the winter is horrible and they bankrupt city does not have the resources to take care of the snow. They use ...Read More d to be good in high school sports and now they are lucky to win a game in most sports. Crime is higher than indicated here and the drug problem is rampant and worsening. Better than shenandoah. but 74 come on this place is lucky to be 17. Visit the coal region and i assure you you will change your livability rankings. Read Less
