      Shafter, CA

Living here in Shafter can sometimes be a bit of a challenge. With not many job opportunities and a bevy of issues with the education system, I find it hard to really excel as a person born and raised here. Most times I can enjoy a night out on the town, or spend time with good friends and family to relieve the stress though.

If you are looking for anything, it can be found off of the Santa Fe Way. A great barbershop for men and women alike would have to be the Pinedes Barbershop. They will assist you in every way, and they have fair prices. I know the park system is decent, I spend some days walking my dog and reading at Richland Park.

For someone with a large family, especially younger children, Shafter may not be that bad. The only issue is once they get older, they will want to move and see more things than what Shafter has to offer. All in all this is a good place to live though.
