To add to the beauty and serenity of the small city, Sammamish has one of the lowest crime rates in the entire country and violent crime is virtually absent. There were sixteen cases in the calendar year last year, which is shockingly low when you consider there are more than fifty thousand residents in the city.

Tucked away, just on the other side of Lake Sammamish from the busier Bellevue and Seattle, Sammamish is less than twenty miles from both these cities, giving the quaint town a short drive to all the restaurants and night life that anyone could want. There is some of the best fishing and hunting in the entire country all around Sammamish and there is a never ending list of outdoor activities that can be enjoyed. There are great ski resorts that are a short drive away, as well as all other snow related activities that you can imagine.

The best part about this area truly is the people who reside in and around Sammamish. It has a small town feel, although all the amenities that a large metropolitan area is just a stone's throw away. Sammamish truly gives you the best of both worlds and it is hands down one of the best places you can ever raise a family. The friendly nature of the residents, as well as the laid back vibe makes Sammamish a truly great place to live. Read Less
