There are very few places I have ever been to that are as bleak and depressing as Saks, Alabama. It's rare for a town to have absolutely nothing positive about itself but that is the case with Saks. I have a friend who has been living in Saks for about 2 years now and the joke is on him because he thought he was moving to one of the best areas in the state, only to find that the exact opposite was true. We are now helping him find a place to relocate. This town has a horrible amount of crime of all kinds, schools that you would be ashamed to send your children to, streets, yards, empty lots strewn with litter, and the people who live here just don't care. I think that's the most depressing part of all. There are a couple of pretty decent places here to visit for fun such as Blackberry Hill Alpaca Farm, Noccalula Falls Park and Campground, the Anniston Museum of Natural History, Floating Fun for some boating, kayaking, or rafting, and The Factory trampoline park and arcade. Other than that you want to just stay home and watch T.V. and dream of the day you get out of this dreary place for good.
