Ronkonkoma New York: Great City Near the Waterways User Rating 4 rating By Anonymous ( May 10, 2018) My husband and I love living in Ronkonkoma New York for these past two years. The area is gorgeous. It is a well-manicured district near the water a few miles from Long Island. The housing market is positive here. I prefer the weather in this area more so than any other suburb in ...Read More New York. Our seasonal climates are normally not as brash. Crime does not easily find its way to the area, and employment potential is high. In my experience, it is a very safe and secure district.

Ronkonkoma is very family oriented. It has great schools as well as a neighboring college, Suffolk County Community College. The area is in close proximity to the Long Island MacArthur Airport. Although the cost of living is a bit steeper than the national average, the community lifestyle somewhat makes up for it. The town is amid beautiful parks, waterways, and restaurants. The best areas in Ronkonkoma are around Lake Ronkonkoma. It is the largest lake on Long Island, with breathtaking scenes and lots of landscaping. Read Less
