I grew up in Ripon, and attended the local schools, graduating from Ripon High School in 1972. My father farmed, and Ripon is a farming community. There isn't a lot of nightlife, dining, shopping, or attractions. Ripon is or was, all about community. I have family living in Ripon. I take issue with the resident who wrote comments about Ripon on May 22, 2018. This resident states they are from the Bay Area. They probably work their too. Bay Area residents began moving to the Ripon area around 1980 because their cost of housing and living was extremely expensive, yet they still retained their jobs and commuted everyday. This resulted in an economic unbalance in wages and housing affordability. They also brought their crime and low morals and values into a religious, community-based, family city, and the results speak for themselves. Go back to the Bay Area, it would make me happy.
